It took me awhile to finalize my list but I finally came up with the following:
1. Eat Breakfast
2. Walk Pigs
3. 15 Minute Power Clean
4. Exercise
5. Read or Write
6. Prepare for Tomorrow
While these tasks seem simple and easy enough to accomplish, just having the list handy has made a big difference in my productivity levels. When I am bored or feel as if I should be doing something more productive, I run down my list and see what needs to still be done. If I have done everything I can move on to something new or just relax without feeling guilty.
Lets quickly walk through my list :)
Eat Breakfast
Walk Miss Pigs
I always hear people complain about their dogs bad habits. Unfortunately, when a dog/animal is stuck inside all day without having exerted any energy they must find ways of getting that energy out, like tearing up your shoes or going through the trash. After all that work, you come home to find your dog asleep in the big mess that they created.
I use to live on a lake and Pigs was able to wander about freely and I didn't really ever walk her. But when we moved I quickly realized how important they were for her. In the last year or so she has started to resist going for walks, but now more than ever she needs that daily activity. I will do whatever needs to be done so that she can continue being my sidekick for years to come.
15 Minute Power Clean
Exercise
On the days in which my schedule does not allow for a structured workout, I add in activity whenever I can that day. Examples, are taking stairs instead of elevators, parking in the back of the parking lot, carrying my groceries to my car, running after Pigs, and doing pull-ups in random trees. Okay, so pull-ups in the trees is not done very frequently but you get the idea.
Read or Write Something
On a side note, I am naturally a very anxious person (although with exercise, good sleep, and a good diet my anxiety is severely lessened). When I start to get into a stressful state I really benefit from writing in a journal. For myself, writing is a way to get my thoughts out of my head. Most of the time what I write is not very profound or interesting but once its on the paper I can stop stressing about it and move on.
Also, I wish to focus more time for writing blog posts and so far my Daily To-do List has helped me focus on them more.
