When I return from this trip I am going to switch up my workout plan. I find it is good to mix things up to help keep you intrigued and to keep your body guessing which results on better results overall. I currently have been attending CrossFit once or twice a week, playing a lot of tennis 2 or 3 times per week, and squeezing in a yoga class here and there. After the trip the game plan is to attend CrossFit 2x per week, Yoga class 1x per week, and fill in 2-3 days of another CrossFit session, tennis or running.
I feel the combo of high energy, high fat burning CrossFit & running with the moderate intensity tennis and the low intensity yoga, provides a very balanced and entertaining week of exercise. CrossFit hits strength and endurance, Tennis focuses on agility and incorporates more lateral and rotational movements as opposed to CrossFit that is made up of a lot of straight forward movements. Finally, adding yoga in helps with my flexibility and my mental health. After a good yoga class I am relaxed and refreshed, as refreshed as you can be when you are covered from head to toe in sweat!!
The point of this post is to make sure that your workout plan includes many different kinds of activities. Ones that build strength, maintain flexibility, burn fat, and help you relax. All of these components help keep your body injury and stress free. Let me know if you want me to take a look at your weekly plan!
Until after the slopes, Nothing Tastes as Good as Being Healthy Feels!!
